my son has had a guinea pig for just over a year. for the past six months the guinea pig has been turning over it's food tray, but does not eat the food that has landed in the shavings. how do we stop the guinea pig from turning over the food tray/bowl? do they sell bowls that mount to cages? i've never seen one.

A.Hi ted, You could try getting a very heavy bowl that would be difficult to flip over, that is what we use and found it in our local pet store, its cute looks like a cabbage, hope that helps.
Our little pigs use to have a water bowl fixed to the side of the cage, poop was getting in it, so we moved it further up the wire, only to discover that they were putting the poop in it deliberately, silly piggies I guess they like the flavor.

The only thing missing here is to emphasize on the fact that there are foods that are poisonous for guinea pigs. I run into a great page about that - http://tinyurl.com/yklu47x - as I am changing my pig's diet since they are growing up.
